The Society for the Study and Protection of Fishes

is a Non-Governmental organization established in 2007. Our objective is to improve the protection and research of fishes by working together with other organizations (institutes for nature conservation here and abroad, organizations such as ours and other scientific institutes), raising awareness for the significance of fish conservancy and improving the protection endangered species that inhabit Serbia.

Objectives:

- Active protection and research as well as improvement of protective measures of all endangered species of Serbia

- Helping amateur ichtyologists improve their knowledge of fishes; organizing research activities (camps, lectures and gatherings); engaging in scientific studies

- Informing the public about our work

- Composing a library of ichtyological documents and books

-Colaboration with competent national organizations and organizations abroad

- Following legal regulations and improving conservancy law in accordance with the law itself is the way that the Society for the Study and Protection of Fishes realizes its goals and ideals.
